Qiuyi practises in the area of civil and commercial litigation, with a focus on property, contract, company and professional negligence law. He has the technical expertise and commercial nous to figure out the best solution to resolve a dispute for clients. Although Qiuyi is a litigator, he has strong sense of seeking negotiations for clients with their opponents to keep clients’ legal costs down. But if going to court is your best option, he will act quickly to have your interests protected by a court.
Qiuyi also specialises in employment and workplace relations. He has well-regarded experience in advising clients on the aspects of work entitlements and workplace rights as well as representing them in the claims of underpayment, unfair dismissal, general protection and discrimination before the Fair Work Commission and Federal Circuit Court.
Xiang Li (Sean) is a founder of Broaden Legal. He is admitted in the High Court of Australia (which enables him to practice in federal jurisdiction) and Supreme Court of New South Wales (which enables him to practice in state courts). Sean is also a registered MARA agent. Sean is mainly responsible for family law matter, commercial and civil litigation, and costs assessment in the law firm.
Sean is specialized in litigation and dispute resolution. He has participated in many litigations in the Federal Court of Australia, Federal Circuit Court of Australia, Supreme Court of New South Wales and various District/Local Courts and obtain many favorable rulings.
In commercial and civil area, Sean’s matters include debt recovery, consumer protection, IP infringement, misleading and deceptive conducts, property law and equity, some of which has multimillion dollars of claim value. Sean also provide legal advice to one of the most famous online shopping platform in China in relation to compliance entering the Australian market.
In family law, Sean acted for many high net-worth individuals in the Family Court of Australia / Federal Circuit Court of Australia to deal with complex trans-national property/trust and parenting issues. Sean also assist many clients to reach settlement and avoid drawn-out legal proceedings.

Andrea Song is a founder of Broaden Legal. She is a solicitor admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the Hight Court of Australia, which allows her to practice in both Federal Court and State Court system. Her practice focus on criminal law, traffic law and migration law.
Andrea has extensive experience in all types of criminal matters and migration appeal matters in Administrative Appeal Tribunal and/or in the Federal Court of Australia. She has defended clients in a range of criminal matters, such as supply of drug, kidnapping, sex assault, rape, illicit cigarette trade, fraud, all types of violence-related charges, dangerous driving occasioning death. Andrea is also experienced in urgent bail applications in the Local Court and the Supreme Court of New South Wales. She has an impressive rate of success in both jury trials and judge alone trials. Andrea has successfully defended her client against charges which carry with maximum penalty of 25-year custodial sentence.
Andrea is also experienced in negotiation with the prosecution. She always fights for the best interest of client where a plea of guilty is entered by aiming at the best offer from the Police by plea bargain and to minimize the penalty in sentencing hearing. Andrea has successfully obtained no conviction for a client convicted of negligence driving occasioning grievously bodily harm. She also recently succeeded in negotiation with the prosecution of discontinuing charges against her client in District Court which carries with a maximum 14-year custodial sentence.
Ms. Xiao (April) is a solicitor at Broaden Legal. She is admitted in the Supreme Court of New South Wales (which enables her to practice in state courts). Ms. Xiao specializes in property transaction, business transactions, franchise agreement, drafting and negotiating lease and other commercial agreement. Additionally, Ms. Xiao is also good at drafting the shareholder agreement by which to assist the company in setting up and maintaining an effective corporate governance, improving directors duties, as well as protecting the rights of shareholders.
Ms. Xiao has a wealth of experience in commercial transaction negotiation and drafting of agreements. Ms. Xiao has her clients’ best commercial interest in mind and applies law accordingly. Ms. Xiao is familiar with statues and regulations in NSW in relation to property and business transfers. She is capable of assisting her clients to avoid risks during business transactions.
Megan Han graduated with a Bachelor degree of Law in China, and received her master degree in University of Sydney. She was admitted as a lawyer in China in 2007 and worked for large Law firms in Beijing in areas of commercial law and international anti-dumping dispute. Before her migration to Australia, she worked for Ministry of Transport of China engaging in theoretical research of modern transportation. Megan Han is currently working with local and international clients on property acquisitions, disposals and foreign investment in Australian real estate market after her admission in New South Wales. Megan also represents companies and organizations in commercial transactions such as commercial acquisitions and sales, commercial leases, franchises, loan and partnership agreements.
Mr. Xie (Martin) is a graduate solicitor at Broaden Legal. Mr. Xie is experienced in Mr. Xie has extensive experience in management consulting. He once worked for a well-known management consulting company in Shanghai. He specializes in marketing and human resource management. He has helped joint ventures in the Greater China market in marketing and brand building and product brand management. He has also participated in the formulation and implementation of training programs for middle and senior managers of state-owned enterprises, large hospitals and private enterprises. After immigrating to Australia, he worked in financial planning and commercial loan companies, and then worked for a law firm. He has experiences in immigration application and appeal with many successful outcomes. Mr. Xie was involved in cases including investment Visa, skilled immigration Visa, spouse Visa and protection Visa. Mr. Xie is also experienced in bridging Visa application.
Mr. Gu (Jamie) is a senior finance consultant at Broaden Legal. Jamie is a certified accountant (CPA Australia) and Juris Doctor graduate in law (soon to be admitted as a solicitor). Jamie can provide practical business and accounting advice to our client. Before pursuing his career in law, he was a CFO at an international logistics company, he also held senior finance positions in public listed companies and private equity firms. He has a strong commercial experience and accounting knowledge in areas such as taxation, audit, and corporate restructuring. Before completing his Juris Doctor in law, Jamie has a bachelor’s in computer engineering, a postgraduate degree in Management and double master’s degrees in accounting and commerce.
